Short Term Catheters

Trio CT
The Trio-CT Triple Lumen Citrate CRRT Catheter is a short term dialysis catheter with three separate lumens allowing continuous blood flow. The venous (blue) lumen and arterial (red) lumen may be used for hemodialysis, CRRT and apheresis treatments.
The central lumen is independent from the two dialysis lumens, and may be used for calcium infusion during citrate CRRT, intravenous therapy, power injection of contrast media, central venous pressure monitoring, blood draws and infusion of medications.
Features & Benefits
- 13.5F oval catheter designed for kink resistance
- Tapered catheter tip design
- Internal lumen is independent from dialysis lumens & exits distal to the other lumens
- Third lumen comes with "Power Injectable" extension
- Depth markings assists catheter insertion to desired depth
- Catheter lengths ranging from 12 to 30cm long
- High flow rate of 400ml/min at a low pressure of 88mmHg (for a straight 24cm catheter)
- Average recirculation rate of 2% for normal or reversed flow
- Priming volume shown on catheter clamps
- ID tags indicate maximum injection rates
- MRI safe, made of Thermosensitive Polyurethane

Duo-Flow 400XL
The Duo-Flow 400XL is a high flow double lumen catheter designed with a tapered tip that allows insertion via the Seldinger Technique. The fixed circular tube within a tube allows for a 360º arterial uptake and provides consistent flows in excess of 400ml/mn. The round catheter design permits easier insertion and less patient discomfort than oval designs.
Features & Benefits
- New luminal designs allows for greater flow.
- The advantages of high flow and high efficiency dialysis with the benefits of Medcomp's patented Duo-Flow design.
- High flow catheter material elimintes kinking due to its excellent memory.
- French size and length designations for ease of identification.
- 360º arterial ports help eliminate vessel occlusion and arterial insufficiency.
- Priming volume designation for ease of catheter maintenance.
- Less than 5% recirculation, with flows above 400ml/mn.
- Rotating suture wing provides secure anchoring.

Duo-Flow XTP
The unique Duo-Flow XTP Catheter overcomes several complications normally associated with standard "D" design double lumen acute access catheters. The fixed circular tube within a tube allows for a 360º arterial uptake and reduces the need for reversing blood lines. The design also increases catheter stability in-situ as compared to conventional double lumen catheters, which exhibit a "whipping" action during use.
Features & Benefits
- Fully Sterile Tyvek Pouches Reduces the risk of nosocomial infection, in comparison to glass vials and fluid path only syringe packaging.
- Thermosensative Flexi-Smooth catheter material softens after insertion for increased patient safety.
- Soft, highly radiopaque tip reduces incidence of vessel damage and aids in confirming catheter tip replacement.
- Priming volume designation for ease of catheter maintenance.
- 360º venous return ports decrease vessel turbulence while increasing blood flow.
- 360º arterial ports help eliminate vessel occlusion and arterial insufficiency.
- Seldinger Technique Insertion
- Rotatable suture wing provides secure anchoring.
- Durable high memory urethane extension lines will withstand repeated clamping.
- French size and length designations for ease of identification.
- Strain relief collar reduces kinking at the exit site.

Free Flow
Medcomp presents its premier open tip dialysis catheter, the Free Flow. Through the use of leading technology and unprecedented engineering, Medcomp presents the industry’s first true open tip, short term dialysis catheter. The 360 degree coaxial flow design eliminates the need for sideholes and reversing of catheter lines due to arterial insufficiency. The lack of sideholes preserves catheter locking solution concentration and minimises locking solution leaching. This unique design increases the overall patency and performance of the catheter.
Features & Benefits
- True 360 degree flow with no sideholes and open tips for unobstructed flow.
- Integral soft tip stylet that reduces the risk of vessel damage.
- Rotating suture wing for secure external anchoring.
- Crack resistant luers for greater resistance to separation.
- Preloaded stylet for standard or modified Seldinger introduction.

Hemo Cath ST
The short term access Hemo-Cath Silicone catheter is a double lumen catheter designed with a tapered tip that allows insertion via the Seldinger Technique. The internal stiffening stylet provides adequate rigidity during insertion. When the stylet is removed along with the guidewire, an extremely soft, kink-resistent cannula is left in the vessel. The flexible cannula conforms to vessel anatomy, providing safety and comfort once in the vessel. Studies have indicated a lower rate of venous stenosis when soft catheters are placed in the subclavian vein (Bosch, et. al, Holland).
The green anchoring clip curves the extensions for subclavian or internal jugular approaches.
Features & Benefits
- Luminal design allows for greater flows.
- Seldinger Technique Insertion.
- Rotating suture wing for secure external anchoring.
- Round catheter permits easier insertion and less patient discomfort than oval designs.
- Radiopaque catheter lumen tip for correct placement confirmation.
- Less than 5% recirculation, due to strategically placed arterial return ports.
- Priming volume designation for ease of catheter maintenance.
- Small 11.5FR diameter catheter allows access to smaller veins.

Tri-Flow
A straight, small, triple lumen catheter set that is ideal for extracorporeal therapies, such as dialysis, hemofiltration, apheresis and plasmapheresis. The third lumen gives greater flexibility for fluid administration, vasoactive drug therapy, nutrition and blood sampling. The integral soft tip reduces occurrence of stenosis and erosion, and all sets are MRI compatible.
